Made of B20 cast bronze, the Zildjian K Custom K0998 20" Ride is a multipurpose ride cymbal with a hybrid design. It has a lathed outer edge for added warmth, washability, and crash-ride capabilities, and an unlathed centre for distinct, articulate stick definition. The overall tone strikes a balance between warmth and clarity, and the bell's brightness and cutting quality make it appropriate for a variety of genres, including jazz, fusion, rock, and pop. It is an excellent all-around vehicle for both studio and live application because to its dual-zone responsiveness and dynamic range.

Sound Characteristics:

• For ride patterns where you want your strokes to be distinct and defined, the cymbal produces a clean, articulate stick sound, especially when playing close to the centre or unlathed zone.  
• When struck there, the bell is described as brilliant, crisp, and "pingy," providing significant definition.  
• It works well as a ride and for sporadic crash-accenting since playing close to the edge or on the outer lathed zone brings forth wash, spread, and a smoother "crash-ride" quality.  
• A medium-to-mid pitch with a harmonious blend of warmth, richness, and clarity—without being unduly bright or obviously trashy—is what to expect in terms of tonality. 
• The cymbal has sufficient projection to pierce through a full band mix, and sustain tends to be longer.
